NUSA DUA – Fierce battles occur when Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo met representatives of Denmark, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen in the final match of Group A BWF World Tour Finals 2021 on Friday (12/3/2021) early in the morning WIB. Fortunately, Marcus/Kevin were able to come out victorious after fighting until the rubber game with a score of 21-15, 18-21, and 21-8.
With this victory, Marcus/Kevin won Group A and have the right to advance to the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Finals 2021. Marcus/Kevin’s struggle will continue.
The course of the match
Starting the first game Marcus/Kevin seemed to be playing calmly. Astrup/Rasmussen fought back with a fast and aggressive tempo, but in that way the Minions were easily returned.
Marcus/Kevin didn’t seem daunted even though they received strong smashes from both Astrup and Rasmussen several times. They defend well and often even earn points.
Among them, when the points were at 8-4, Kevin repeatedly got Astrup’s strong smash. But in the third shot, Kevin immediately directed the shuttlecock across the net and was out of reach.
Marcus / Kevin’s first interval with a score of 11-5. Not much different when the game entered the second interval. Marcus / Kevin are still strong defensively and consistently attack.
Not finding significant resistance, the Minions also smoothly collected the coffers of points. The first game was theirs with a score of 21-15.
Entering the second game, Astrup/Rasmussen played faster and more aggressively. Even this time their attacks began to penetrate the Minions defense.
