“World Badminton Federation [BWF] we can confirm that we are reviewing the events that took place in the Hylo Open 2022 men’s singles final between Chou Tien Chen and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting on Sunday 6th November. BWF.
Controversy occurred in the third match of the Hylo Open 2022 final between Chen and Ginting. When the position was equalized at 22-22, the referee suddenly gave Ginting a point because he thought Chen had made a mistake.
The Taiwanese then protested, but the referee kept the decision and Ginting ultimately won 24-22 in the 2022 Hylo Open final.
So far, it’s unclear what prompted the referee to give Ginting points. Some say Chen did it double fault and there are also those who claim that the shuttlecock has entered.
BWF also ensures that the final result of the Hylo Open 2022 between Chou Tien Chen vs Ginting will not change, regardless of the BWF exam results.
“The BWF believes that all referees are trying to make the best possible decisions in real time,” the BWF wrote.
“However, even if an error occurs, the referee cannot change the decision and the referee’s decision is considered final.”
