Case 1
Eight Indonesian badminton players who knew each other and competed in low-level international competitions mostly in Asia until 2019, violated BWF’s Integrity regulations regarding match fixing, match manipulation and single badminton betting.
Report from whistleblower allows the BWF integrity unit to initiate investigations and interview a number of actors related to the matter.
All eight players are temporarily suspended in January 2020 until a decision can be made via a hearing process.
The eight players involved were Hendra Tandjaya, Ivandi Danang, Androw Yunanto, Sekartaji Putri, Mia Mawarti, Fadilla Afni, Aditiya Dwiantoro, and Agripinna Prima Rahmanto Putra.
Three of them were found to have coordinated and arranged for others to engage in the behavior and have been suspended from all badminton-related activities for life.
