BVShallie Abbiusi (30), known from ‘Temptation Island: Love or Leave’ and ‘Komen Eten’, among others, has landed a job as a presenter in Ghana.
In 2021 she appeared as a single in ‘Temptation Island: Love or Leave’, but today Shallie Abbiusi, the Limburger with Italian roots, is a well-known TV face in Ghana and her star is rising there. “This new chapter in my career is generating enormous enthusiasm,” she said in our newspaper when she had just started as a TV face. “I am the first white woman to have her own program here, and that makes it just that little bit more special. It is also very special that I am suddenly a celebrity in another continent. The love of the fans is also huge here. Or am I not slowly starting to float? No, I keep both feet on the ground and work hard to always deliver a top show.”
In the meantime, she also reported to ‘Het Nieuwsblad’ that she now has a contract with TV3 and will present in English, as it is the official language of the West African country. Although Shallie says she keeps her options open: “In the meantime, we are looking at how I can develop an acting career.”
And why Ghana? Shallie has been there in the past to represent our Belgian country at a beauty pageant. She already has quite a few beauty pageants to her credit and in 2013 she was even crowned Miss Exclusive. Also because she later started a company in digital marketing, she worked closely with a Ghanaian. “The market is much bigger here and it helps that I stand out because of my skin color,” she continues. However, she does not live permanently in Africa, but has been in Ghana for about four months without interruption. Shallie plans to keep her home in Belgium.
