Dortmund – The season is about to start, Borussia Dortmund meets 1860 Munich in the first round of the DFB Cup. The anticipation prevails, as BVB coach Edin Terzic announced at the press conference before the game. But apart from the sport, a clinch is looming with one player – with world star Neymar of all people.

BVB star criticizes: Now Neymar shoots against Dortmund professional
It’s not the first Zoff message that’s circulating around him: BVB professional Thomas Meunier clashed with Raphael Guerreiro last winter. Now Neymar responded to a comment from the Belgian.
The Dortmund defender initially raved about the Brazilian at the kicker: “I have to admit that I was a huge Neymar fan when he was still playing in Barcelona. When we lost 6-1 with Paris after a 4-0 win in the first leg at Barca, that was all down to him.” Thomas Meunier even explained. “If I had been ten years old, I would have hung his poster in my room.”

But then Neymar moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, his new teammate: Thomas Meunier. From 2017 to 2020, they both wore the jerseys of the French champions before the 31-year-old right-back switched to BVB.
Neymar’s transfer from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain was apparently a mistake for Meunier: “In Paris, however, he lost his magic – from my point of view.”

BVB: Meunier and Neymar know each other from Paris Saint-Germain
The BVB professional justified his opinion: Although he was enthusiastic as a future teammate when the Brazilian signed, “but from the point of view of the football romantic, which I am too: Neymar belongs to Barca; Messi as well; and Sergio Ramos to Real.” But not only the football romance speaks against the change. Neymar couldn’t seamlessly follow up on his performance with the Catalans.
The world star didn’t miss the BVB pro’s statement either – and Neymar shot back immediately. The portuguese portal did you knowfootball reposted the quote from Thomas Meunier on Instagram. The striker then commented with laughing smileys: “The guy talks too much.”
The two will probably never be best friends again in this life. However, Thomas Meunier is not the only Dortmund football star who can dish out. BVB legend Kevin Großkreutz also recently peppered against Nick Salihamidzic, who made fun of Borussia Dortmund.
