Borussia Dortmund can look forward to an interesting round of 16 in the DFB Cup. In the new year, BVB will meet league rivals VfL Bochum away from home – this was the result of Sunday night’s draw at the German Football Museum. The derby should be broadcast on free TV.
So far only one cup duel between Dortmund and Bochum
So far the two teams have met only once in the Cup. In the quarter-finals of the 1982/83 season the Nerogialli won 3-1 after extra time. BVB goals were scored by Erdal Keser (11th), Marcel Raducanu (114th) and Franz-Josef Schmedding (118th). In the current Bundesliga season, both teams will play against each other in Dortmund on 5 November. Last season Borussia were winless against Bochum (1: 1, 3: 4).
Reigning champions RB Leipzig will face TSG Hoffenheim, while FC Bayern Munich will face FSV Mainz 05 away from home. There are four play dates for the eight games: January 31st / January 1st. February and 7/8. February 2023. For the first time, a regular cup ride extends for two weeks.
