Every day around the world 20,000 plastic bottles are produced every second! When plastic decomposes, chemicals are released that adversely affect the ecosystem. There are many places in the cities purchases of nuts. You can spend it charity or treat as additional earnings. How much can you earn by collecting plastic caps? How can such caps help a charity or a specific person seeking support?
It is worth removing the caps from the used bottle and putting it, for example, in a chosen container, and then passing it to Collection point or purchase. They are suitable for waste sorting. The companies that deal with it transform the caps purchased into a secondary raw material: the granules, which in turn can be used to produce, for example, flower pots, various packaging, PVC pipes or hangers and even computer cases.

What Kind of Nuts Should You Collect? Contrary to appearances, they don’t have to be alone after a drink. Any plastic screw cap can be collected, regardless of size or shape. Caps for drinks, milk or coffee as well as ketchup will therefore be suitable, as well as caps for washing liquids, rinsing, floor washing, shampoos, lotions, shower gels, creams, etc.

However, keep in mind that these must be the same traffic jams, you should remove additional items from themif there are any, such as gaskets, grommets, aluminum foil, etc. When you have enough caps, you can take them to large collection points or shopping centers. They are then collected by the processors who pay the caps and use them in their business.
How much can you earn by collecting plastic caps?
To earn money by collecting plastic caps, you need to collect a lot of them. Price per kilogram of caps in purchase it is not one of the highest and is varied. Its height depends, among other things, on a certain location, as well as the current demand for caps and whether we import the goods ourselves or whether they are collected by the company from the customer. The price of plastic dice varies from 0.5 PLN to approximately 1 PLN per kilogram. On average, it is around 70 cents. In the vicinity of Warsaw and Olsztyn, the purchase price ranges from 0.5 PLN per kg, when the corks weigh up to 1,000 kg in total, or 0.7 PLN when their weight exceeds 1,000 kg.
Taking into account that one kilogram usually contains around 500 walnuts, or less – all depending on the weight and size of the walnuts – to weigh a ton, you need to harvest nearly 500,000! To achieve the number of caps to be collected, to obtain about a ton of raw material, it would be necessary to fill almost 65 bags with a capacity of 120 liters with plastic caps.
Why are plastic caps collected and not bottles?
Many people probably wonder why they don’t collect plastic bottles in stores, only their caps. Why is this happening? The caps themselves are collected, not the bottles mainly because their purchase value is different. This is due to the fact that the materials from which both the bottle and its cap are made have different properties.
This results in a higher purchase price for plastic caps because they are easier to process as well plastic bottles require more complicated recycling. Plus, size matters too. Plastic bottles, despite having a similar weight to caps, take up much more space and therefore generate higher storage costs.
Why is it worth picking nuts?
Regardless of whether we collect plastic caps to take them to a shopping center and earn them, or by donating them to charity, in both cases we lose nothing and more gains the environment. Of course, to earn money by buying nuts, you need to harvest a lot of them, so it’s best to join forces and ask your family or friends to put the nuts aside. Together, it is easier to collect the right amount.
The same is true when donating caps to charity. Here too it counts staircase effect. Such campaigns are organized by various foundations that collect caps from a particular person or designate a point where the hats can be returned, for example in a shop or school. Additionally, they separate and weigh them, then sell them to recycling companies. The money thus obtained makes it possible to finance a collection for a specific person or to purchase the necessary equipment. For example, collecting about 12 tons of plastic nuts makes it possible to purchase a wheelchair.

In addition to collecting plastic nuts financial benefits has others. One of the main ones is environmental problem. First, bottles without a cap are easier to store because the screw cap cannot be squeezed. This is important because a bottle with a cap usually ends up in a landfill and, without it, it is very likely to be squashed and take up less space. Furthermore, it has a direct impact on reducing transport and storage costs. Therefore, the storage capacity is saved.
It is also important educational question. By separating the waste, separating the corks from the bottles, you can show the little ones how important it is to take care of the environment and combine them, for example, with the help of the needy, to raise awareness among children to such problems and teaching selfless help to others.
