Buying Cooking Oil for IDR 14,000 Will Be Mandatory to Use PeduliLindung or NIK, Luhut: Socialization Starting Monday

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menkomarves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that his party immediately began the transition to change the sales and purchase system cooking oil population volume (MGCR).

Later all sales and purchases bulk cooking oil will use the app CareProtect or show NIK.

According to Luhut, the government will disseminate this policy to the public.

“The socialization period will start on Monday (27/6/2022) and will last for the next two weeks,” said Luhut, quoted from a press release on the official website of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Friday (6/24/2022).

“After the socialization period is over, people must use the PeduliLindung application or show their NIK, to be able to get MGCR with the highest retail price (HET),” said Coordinating Minister Luhut in an official statement, Friday (24-6-2022).

In this way, the public is guaranteed to be able to obtain cooking oil at the highest retail price (HET) of Rp. 14,000 per liter or Rp. 15,500 per kilogram.

Luhut explained that the purchase of MGCR at the consumer level would be limited to a maximum of 10 kilograms for one NIK per day.

“MGCR at this price can be obtained at sellers/retailers who are officially registered in the Simirah 2.0 program and also through Logistics and Retail Service Business Actors (PUJLE), namely Food and Savory Stalls,” said Luhut.

Luhut said that this system change was made to make MGCR distribution management more accountable and monitored from producers to consumers.

“After the socialization period is complete, all sales and purchases of MGCR will use the PeduliLindung application. Meanwhile, people who do not have PeduliLindungi can still buy by showing their NIK,” he added.
