Moscow –
war in Ukraine getting hotter. Russia and Ukraine buying and selling attacks until the death toll fell.
The battle between Russia and Ukraine has been heating up since Monday (13/6/2022). Russia claims to have destroyed a Ukrainian arsenal in the Ternopil region.
Reported Al Arabiya News and TASSThe warehouse was claimed by the Russian Ministry of Defense as a storage area for anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles supplied by the United States (US) and the European Union.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government said the Russian attack left 22 people injured. In addition, there are also damaged residential buildings.
Russia destroys civilian evacuation routes
Russian troops also destroyed the last route that could be used to evacuate civilians from the Ukrainian city of Sievierodonetsk. Russian troops continued fierce fighting in Sievierodonetsk which is the largest city still controlled by Kiev in Luhansk. The war in Sievierodonetsk was fought in an attempt to take control of the entire Donbas region of Ukraine eastern part.
As reported ReutersTuesday (14/6/2022), the Governor of Luhansk Province Serhiy Gaidai said that the last bridge connecting the city of Sievierodonetsk with other cities had been destroyed by Russian troops.
This situation trapped the remaining civilians in the city and humanitarian supplies could not be supplied to the industrial city. Gaidai said about 70 percent of the area of the city of Sievierodonetsk is now controlled Russia.
Ukraine has also made increasingly urgent calls for more heavy weapons shipments from Western countries to help defend the city of Sievierodonetsk from Russia. Kiev called the city the key to Russia’s control of all of the Donbas.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on Monday night (13/6) has called the fighting in eastern Donbas will be recorded as the most brutal in European history. The Donbas region, which consists of Luhansk and Donetsk, has been claimed by pro-Russian separatists since 2014.
“For us, the price of this battle is very high. It is terrible,” Zelensky said.
“We draw the attention of our partners every day to the fact that only modern artillery in sufficient quantities for Ukraine will ensure our advantage,” he said.
Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said in a separate statement that his country needed 1,000 howitzers, 500 tanks and 1,000 drones among other heavy weapons.
Russia’s RIA news agency reported that pro-Moscow separatist spokesman Eduard Basurin claimed Ukrainian troops had been effectively blockaded in Sievierodonetsk. He warned the Ukrainian soldiers to surrender or face death.
The spokesman for the International Legion for Defense of Ukraine, Damien Magrou, in a separate statement said the situation in Sievierodonetsk risks becoming like the port city of Mariupol, where “a large pocket of Ukrainian fighters is cut off from other Ukrainian troops”.
