More than half a million euros for the 80s Ford Sierra? Yes, as long as it is a model Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth.
An auction has ended in Great Britain, where a buyer for a 1987 Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth paid a price that could buy, for example, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge filmed in iAuto Jurmala (400,000 euros) or three whole Ferrari Portofinos (the cheapest Ferrari model, price approximately 220,000 euros).
The buyer has chosen a Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth, however, and apparently he has his reasons, along with many other fans who rave about the compact high-performance hatchbacks of the 1980s.
It is known that only 579 RS500 Cosworth copies were produced in 1987, moreover, the car offered at the auction was “like new” and had driven only 8350 km.
It is also important that the Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth is a sought-after model in collectors’ circles, as evidenced by the fact that in 2022 such a car was sold at Silverstone Auctions for 150,000 euros.
