A customer was very surprised after buying nasi with a side dish of plain vegetables in a stall. Because he was charged IDR 55 thousand for that plate of rice.
It seems that the increase in food prices at a food stall is increasingly making customers think twice. This is because with an ordinary menu, customers must be willing to spend quite a lot of money.
Even though this simple menu choice has been made in order to save their expenses. But still, with the increasingly expensive food menu prices, many customers are surprised.
This is what happened to a customer named David. Launching stomp.straittimes.com (26/01), David shared his bad experience when he bought rice at a pujasera or food court called Chang Cheng Mixed Rice in Singapore.
He had previously planned to save on food costs. So this customer decided to only order white rice with the addition of long bean vegetables, green mustard, and tofu.
But the plans that have been made turned out to be in vain. Instead of saving money, David had to spend more money for that plate of vegetable rice. It is known that David was billed to pay S$4.90 or around Rp. 55 thousand.

He also revealed, “I wanted to save money and try to be healthier in a day. So I ordered it nasi with vegetables. But I was very surprised because I was charged $4.90 (Rp 55,000).”
What surprised him even more was that the place to eat was located at the Parkway Parade food court. According to David, this place is much cheaper than buying a meal at a fancy place like Marina Bay Sands (MBS) or Sentosa.

As a result, David did not believe in the expensive food he ordered. To make sure there was no mistake, David again asked the waiter if the price was correct. Because there are indeed some places to eat that deliberately charge expensive fees.
Unfortunately, the waitress revealed that the price of the meal was correct. David explained, “I expressed my shock and clarified the price to the waitress. I was told the price was correct. I didn’t press it anymore because the staff spoke that they were just following instructions.”
David is still questioning whether the price of vegetable rice is reasonable or not.
To Stomp David revealed, “I expected it to be under $4. I understand there’s inflation going on but still. $4.90 for three vegetables, that’s ridiculous.”
In the comments column, there are several netizens who are debating the price of the vegetable rice purchased by this customer.
Netizens who thought this price was reasonable revealed, “The price at the food court is always more expensive than the coffee shop or market.”
While netizens who agreed with David commented, “It should be $ 3.60 (Rp. 41 thousand). $ 1 for vegetables and 0.60 for nasi. $4.90 is too much. Next time ask the price first or you can go somewhere else, or call SFA (Singapore Food Agency) to report the price of this stall.”
