In front of 915 spectators and a bombastic atmosphere, Buxtehuder SV organized a real peat festival in their own hall and defeated VfL Waiblingen 39:26 (17:15). At first it didn’t look like such a clear victory.

But from the beginning: The initial phase was balanced. Marie Andresen started the game with a save. The first goal of the game went to Isabelle Dölle, who scored from 7 meters. After three minutes of play, the visitors took a 2-1 lead. However, it should remain the only Waiblingen lead in this game. In the 8th minute, Teresa von Prittwitz created the first two-goal lead (5:3). Maj Nielsen increases to three a little later (7:4). In the majority, Maxi Mühlner then hit the orphaned Waiblingen goal and threw her team four goals ahead (9:5). During an outnumbered situation, after a bad pass in attack, Marie Andresen strengthened her team’s back and parried. Dirk Leun then asked for a meeting on the sidelines.

Then, in the 15th minute, a moment of horror: Lara Eckhardt went down and grabbed her right knee. She could only leave the place with help. We wish you a good and speedy recovery!

After 18 minutes played there was a change in the Buxtehuder Tor. Young talent Ylva Tants started the game with a save.

Magda Kašpárková made a particularly good game, scoring the second goal in a row to make it 16:12. The Tigers were able to catch up in a brief phase of weakness at BSV (16:14). But Ylva Tants was there to prevent a goal. In return, Magda Kašpárková could be relied on, who placed her third goal in a row between the opponent’s posts and thus made the half-time score (17:14). With a total of 8 goals, she was player of the game. Mathilde Ehlert was honored on the opposing side. She contributed 5 goals for her club.

In the second half, coach Dirk Leun’s team came out of the dressing room strengthened and quickly pulled away. After the 18:16 of the guests, the BSV ran away. In a 4-0 run, the original four-goal lead was restored (20-16). It was Isabelle Dolle’s eighth goal. As against Sachsen Zwickau, she scored a total of 12 (!) times for BSV. The 22:16 came from Magda Kašpárková and went directly into the orphaned opponent’s goal.

Buxtehuder SV’s joy in scoring didn’t stop. One goal after the other found its way into the Waiblinger goal. Different on BSV sides: Marie Andresen nailed her goal. At 28:20 Thomas Zeitz took a break. But even this did not take the momentum from BSV. Teresa von Prittwitz scored in the counterattack to 29:20. The 30th goal went to Maj Nielsen’s cap. Teresa von Prittwitz then claimed the 10-goal lead again in a counterattack (31:21). The goal from Maxi Mühlner to 34:23 made it even 11… then 12 through Mailee Winterberg.

There wasn’t much left for VfL to get until the end. At the final whistle, a sensational 39:26 was on the scoreboard.

A really strong performance, especially when you consider how battered the Buxtehude team is at the moment. The team will be missing Lucia Kollmer, Johanna Heldmann, Sinah Hagen, Mia Lakenmacher, Maja Schönefeld and Liv Süchting until the end of the season due to injuries. Luise Albert from the junior team, who received her first game shares in this game, was there to support her. Cara Reiche also helped out from the cooperation partner HL Buchholz 08-Rosengarten – the left winger is currently equipped with the right to play twice and will switch to BSV for the new season.

BSV trainer Dirk Leun first thanked the loud audience for the strong support and paid his respects to Waiblingen: “Waiblingen can clearly play at eye level for 30-40 minutes. They are a good and intelligent team in terms of play.” He was proud of his team: “In the first half we weren’t good at defence. In the second half we were better in defense and in goal. We then developed more pressure up front in the transition game.”

After the game, the full-time coaches Natascha Kontonko and Lars Dammann and the former managing director Michael Schmidt said goodbye.

After this game, Buxtehuder SV only have two more games on the season schedule: one home and one away game. Next week, Saturday, May 20th, the team will travel to the German Champion SG BBM Bietigheim. The last game of the 22/23 season will take place on Saturday, May 27th in the north hall. At 7 p.m. the team welcomes the HSG Bad Wildungen Vipers. Afterwards the walking players are said goodbye, the player and the fan of the season are chosen and the end of the season is celebrated. Tickets for the last game are available at Ticketmaster.de or in the BSV shop (Viverstr. 2, in Buxtehude).
