GEINSHEIM – The opponents are under pressure. SV Geinsheim as well as VfR Groß-Gerau and SKV Büttelborn meet teams in the soccer group league on Sunday that absolutely need points in the relegation battle.
SV 07 Geinsheim – FC Fürth (Sunday, 3.30 p.m.). There will be no gifts from the Geinsheimers in the game against Fürth either. “We still don’t want to get involved in the relegation battle,” explains player coach Florian Auer. Accordingly, he expects the team to be as focused as in previous encounters. However, there is another failure with Eric Straub (knee injury): “The assignments of Maxi Losert and Alex Melchior will only be decided at short notice.”
Nevertheless, Auer sees his team strong enough – he expects a fight-focused encounter. “Games against Fürth are always intense,” said the coach, adding: “We still want to score 50 points this season and be the second-best team from the Groß-Gerau district.” SV 07 are currently seventh in the table and have 48 points . The best team from the district is VfR Groß-Gerau (rank 3/62).
TSV Lengfeld – VfR Groß-Gerau (Sunday, 3.30 p.m.). Those Groß-Gerauer expect great resistance from the relegation candidate from Lengfeld. With the 3-0 win in Alsbach two weeks ago, the weakened VfR set an exclamation mark. The victory also showed that you can rely on the youngsters as alternatives. “The boys are doing great,” said sporting director Driton Kameraj. Above all, those responsible are enthusiastic about the strong identification of the young players with the club. Although coach Gaetano Bauso still wants to finish second, the priorities lie with the reserves. “We want to get promoted with the second team so that our youth players have better prospects,” explains Kameraj. The squad will only make a decision at short notice, since the second team in the Groß-Gerau district league B is playing the decisive home game against Eintracht Rüsselsheim at the same time. With a threesome, the VfR II would have secured promotion to the A-League.
SKV Büttelborn – Eintracht Bürstadt (Sunday, 3.30 p.m.). After five games as an outsider, SKV coach Francisco Ortega’s team is going into a game against Bürstadt as favorites for the first time. The Büttelborner want to score three points against the relegation-threatened guests. But even if the SKV won the first leg 2-0, the game will not be easy. Bürstadt will do everything to hijack the points, because Eintracht needs every point in the fight to stay up.
