But what does it actually feel like to be under fire from an MG-42?

Just a Sunday contemplation

An exercise in empathy with the past, for the sake of form without an IDF uniform and Tavor in the picture. Because that’s how France, Poland, Russia and British and Americans in North Africa and Italy felt. And what a completely idiotic device that Teutoniche Rattlesnake was. By far the best weapon of its kind at the time and at 1800 (!!!) rounds per minute more than twice as fast as any other comparable platform around 1940. Some historians even claim, sort of, that the weapon was invented at all never surpassed is. And fair is fair, the successor MG3, is indeed difficult to distinguish from its predecessor. Ah, Germans, as long as they shoot in the right direction, you won’t be bothered by them.

The successor and still in service: the MG3
