But how close is the 22-year-old to returning to team training?

Stuttgart coach Pellegrino Matarazzo (43), however, sees things quite differently from the player’s advisor.

At the press conference on Friday he contradicted Eser on TAG24 inquiry with vehemence: “I was a bit surprised by the message. Have of course immediately called our medical department and asked if I missed anything.”

No, he did not: “I can not confirm it,” the practice manager continued. With the Silas return he still expects, as already communicated, “at the earliest in mid-November”.

Due to the severity of the injury, his physique and the “dynamism” Mvumpa needs for his game, “it would not make sense to integrate him into training too early,” Matarazzo warned.

The VfB striker had injured his ankle in March during the match vs. FC Bayern Munich tore the cruciate ligament. It was triggered by an unfortunate duel with then FCB star David Alaba (29).
