Many students, especially from high schools, will not be happy with the action. But the union points out that De Lijn must now communicate in advance about journeys that do or do not run, or must work out alternative services. Stan Reusen of the socialist trade union: “If people rely on public transport and action is taken there, we understand that this causes nuisance for them. But we advise them to consult the De Lijn website.” According to Reusen, De Lijn also gives priority to school rides.
The Christian and socialist trade unions ACV and ABVV will demonstrate in Brussels tomorrow because they want free negotiations on wage increases and they are demonstrating for freedom of association and freedom of action. They are also concerned about purchasing power. The liberal trade union ACLVB is also on strike, but does not participate in the protest.
