Busura

Since I have nothing better to do in August, next week I intend to show up at what the bank says is my office to see my manager to solve a problem that the bank will say is mine. And I do not fit in me with joy thinking about the party that is going to be set up. You are lucky that I will arrive very tired, because my current office is further and further away. As the business grows, they reduce attention, and since I work with the largest bank in Spain, you can imagine that I almost have to change the municipality to be attended.

I’m afraid that when I find the place I’m going to find one of those new boutique-concept-stores full of useless furniture and tropical plants that make you feel uncomfortable. And annoying, annoying. The task of the staff is the telephone sale of products, not to provide you with service, do not be old. Once there, I will ask, not about the ticket that the cashier returned to me when I entered because it was wrinkled (oops!) but about its sudden payment by transfer and about the error in the application of the mortgage differential (they are not going to believe it: in favor of the bank). They will answer me with the milonga that the euro/dollar parity is detrimental to Spanish imports and such. They’ll make me politely request that the director come out. And this one will have to be harassed a little less kindly, at least until he blushes supporting the usurious theories of his entity. You have to be harsh with the bank staff, for fun (the party) and because it is not enough consolation (but it is necessary) that the new tax on commissions and interest bears fruit (and the financiers do not complain that – shame – it will not against benefits!).

The exception that confirms the rule is the entity with an office on the corner where traffic lights light up lions. They say he behaves very well with his wallet, but one cannot be trusted. The circulation of credit was essential for the emergence of the economy (and with it progress) but the tendency to usury is an omnipresent evil in the banking universe since before our universal Gumersindo fought against it a century ago. I want to contribute my grain of sand to the constructive spirit of the intellectual by expanding the financial lexicon, because what is not named is as if it did not exist. I have spent my time thinking of names to describe the service these entities provide. And I got a very appropriate one. From the merger of banking and usury, with all of you… nonsense!

Since I have nothing better to do…
