Barcelona finally able to register Sergio Aguero. This is after Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba agreed to take a pay cut.

Therefore, LaLiga decided to apply a salary cap for Barcelona, which can only be a maximum of 75 percent of the club’s total income this season. This is also what made Lionel Messi finally withdraw because his contract could not be extended.
Even though Messi is not paid, the percentage of Barcelona’s salary has reached 95 percent of total income. As a result, Barcelona had to release many of its players and could not even register new players.
Whereas Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay, and Sergio Aguero were brought in for free. Barcelona could register Memphis and Garcia after Gerard Pique wanted a pay cut.
It took a long time for Barcelona to convince other top, well-paid players to emulate Pique’s footsteps. Finally the captain and vice-captain, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, wanted to do it.
Busquets and Alba as of Tuesday (31/8/2021), agreed to cut their salaries by up to 50 percent. Busquets initially earned around 258 thousand euros per week, then Alba earned 150 thousand euros per week. This is all tax deductible.

“Sergio and Jordi Alba agreed to change the terms of the contract including a pay cut for this season and a postponement of the payment of the remaining salary for the remainder of his contract.”
Now Barcelona can register too Sergio Aguero as their new player. Unfortunately, Aguero is still out until October due to a thigh injury.
