Businessman Nicolás Ibáñez Accuses Banco de Chile President of Treating Him Like a Criminal.

In the midst of the judicial reorganization, the businessman Nicolás Ibáñez revealed that he closed an agreement to sell the Papa John’s chain to an English group. Due to the financial problem, he commented that some of his creditors approached him to help him resolve the legal dispute. However, there were others who did not have the same disposition. One of them, the president of Banco de Chile, Pablo Granifo, whom he met on a flight to London. There, Ibáñez accuses that he was treated as a “criminal.” “It is a pity that, in the person of his highest authority, this does not translate into decent treatment towards the representative of one of his clients who is going through a very sad and difficult situation,” he said.

“He treated me like I was some kind of criminal.” With these words, businessman Nicolás Ibáñez addressed the meeting he had with the president of Banco de Chile, Pablo Granifo, whom he met on a plane headed to London, England.

Until recently, Ibáñez owned the largest international Papa John’s franchise in the world, Drake Food Services (DFSI). However, the company, which operated in the country as PJ Chile SpA, carried multiple debts.

Although the businessman reveals that some of his creditors approached him to help him resolve the legal dispute, there were others who did the opposite and did not have the same disposition. An example of this, the president of Banco de Chile, Pablo Granifo.

according to account Thirdhe met Granifo “on the flight to London a couple of days ago and instead of reiterating that they as bankers can be part of the solution, he treated me as if I were some kind of criminal.”

“I am glad that Banco de Chile has delivered exceptionally good results. It is a pity that, in the person of your highest authority, this does not translate into decent treatment towards the representative of one of your clients who is going through a very sad and difficult situation, ”he added.

The businessman was on the flight to reach an agreement with a British company – whose name is unknown – and which will soon take control of the pizzeria in Chile, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Costa Rica, Panama and Guatemala.

In conversation with the aforementioned medium, Ibáñez commented that said financial problem “has implied an unfortunate and understandable inconvenience for the suppliers and for the bank creditors and, to date, a painful patrimonial loss for the Drake Foundation Enterprise”.

“We have made enormous efforts to turn this situation around. We are on the right track and in the last 48 hours, after many months of blood, sweat and tears, we have been able to close a good agreement for all those affected ”, he declared.
