Businessman Nelu Iordache was definitively sentenced on Tuesday by the Bucharest Court of Appeal to 6 years in prison with execution in the Transalpina 2 case, according to minutes of the meeting. In the first instance, the Bucharest Tribunal had acquitted the businessman.
Nelu Iordache was accused of abuse of office by DNA prosecutors.
He must pay, together with four other defendants, the damage of 45.7 million lei.
Iordache is already in prison after being definitively sentenced to 11 years and 9 months in prison in October in the case of the Nădlac – Arad highway.
Iordache was in the 2000s one of the strongest businessmen in the field of construction, with dozens of contracts won with the Romanian state.
