Awaiting trial in freedom, but prohibited from contacting or approaching the victim, the 34-year-old man detained on Tuesday by the Judicial Police (PJ) of Braga suspected of trying to rape his girlfriend in Guimarães, advance The Santiago Group.
Present to the Court of Guimarães for the application of coercion measures, in addition to the ban on contact or approaching the victim, he was subject to the electronic surveillance system. You are also prohibited from having weapons in your possession.
The PJ detained the suspect in compliance with the Arrest Warrant Out of Flagrante delicto, issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office / Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Guimarães.

The individual is “suspected of the possible practice of the crime of domestic violence, rape (attempted) and theft, facts that occurred in the context of a dating relationship”.
According to the PJ, the facts occurred in the last days of last May, at the victim’s home, in the municipality of Guimarães.
“In a clear possessive and persecutory attitude, the suspect tried, in different ways and at different times, to control the victim’s movements and approach him, creating a climate of fear and forcing him to change routines and to be accompanied by third parties on their daily commutes ”, adds the statement.
