Business talk at Söder: Bavarian companies fear production losses Regional

München – Energy prices and the fear of a new corona wave are burdening the economy and employees.

Prime Minister Markus Söder (55, CSU) discussed future concerns with unions and employer representatives in the State Chancellery yesterday. “It’s about preserving jobs in Bavaria,” he said after the meeting.

He demands:

► Fill up the gas storage tank. “Fewer showers won’t help, as good and personable as the suggestion is.”

► “We have to find ways to push the price spiral down.”

► Pensioners and students must also be included in the energy flat rate.

The fears are indeed great. “One or the other will stop production voluntarily,” said Bertram Brossardt, general manager of the “Vereinigung der Bayerischen Wirtschaft”. That is not yet a threat in the fall. “But that can come from February.”

Not only the companies are looking for support. Bernhard Stiedl, board member of the DGB Bavaria: “We demand that pensioners and students are also taken into account in the energy flat rate in September.”
