Business from scratch. Ciprian and Iulian Cazacu created easySales, a platform for automation and centralization of e-commerce activities on which they gathered over 2,000 traders

“Our solution is present in over 11 marketplaces, including Elefant, Vivre, Emag, Okazii and Olx. EBay and Amazon follow. “

Ciprian and Iulian Cazacu, two brothers who were, in parallel, employed in corporations and entrepreneurs, made the transition to entrepreneurship in 2019, by developing the local startup easySales, a platform for automation and centralization of e-commerce activities for merchants who want to facilitate the sale of their products and their listing on various sales channels.

At present, easySales has gathered over 2,000 merchants in the country and reached more than 11 marketplaces, both nationally and internationally, including Elephant, Vivre, Emag, Okazii and Olx. At the end of this year, the two founders intend to integrate sales channels such as Amazon and eBay.

“The project started in 2019, at the request of customers to list the products on different sales channels, especially on marketplaces. My brother and I founded this startup and the clients came to us to create websites for them and the situation in which they asked us to list the products on various marketplaces appeared more and more often. In more mature markets we discovered that there were products that offered very simple listing solutions and we set out to create such a product in Romania as well. Today, easySales gives merchants the ability to easily process their orders, to list in multiple sales channels to give product visibility, and thus increase sales. Listing on as many sales channels as possible requires a great and repetitive effort, and easySales simplifies these processes a lot “, said Ciprian Cazacu, co-founder of the easySales platform. He says that, initially, he embarked on the path of entrepreneurship with his brother with another project in mind, but in the meantime they reshaped themselves and came to lay the foundations of the easySales platform. So far, the two have invested about 80,000 euros in this startup.

The platform that comes in support of traders is a Cloud platform, explains Ciprian Cazacu, on which they must first create an account. Then, he adds, using that account, merchants can list their products and control their activity through the easySales platform – from things like the website or courier to invoices or various marketplaces where they list their products.

Facilities that the platform offers also include inventory control, SMS notifications, machine translation, price dynamics, image processing or machine translation service.

The platform provides fixed subscriptions, which differ depending on the number of orders and the facilities offered. Their price starts at 29 euros and reaches 249 euros or more, according to Ciprian Cazacu.

“The most requested subscription is the one of 159 euros, an average subscription. Starting with the 99-euro subscriptions, customers can also be listed internationally. “

Most customers and most products come from fields such as home & garden (23%), a sector closely followed by fashion (16%) and electronics (14%).

Regarding the area of user customers, the entrepreneur says that one of the current objectives of the startup is to increase their number, being both domestic customers and customers abroad.

“For next year we want to double the number of users. We have started to expand our services in Bulgaria and we are also in talks with partners from Hungary “, added Ciprian Cazacu.

In order to set up such a business, he claims that it takes, first of all, courage, but also a lot of personal resources and reliable partners.

He defines the easySales startup as being in the middle of an ecosystem, made up of partners who made the platform possible, including Vodafone. “Vodafone is our mobility partner and has helped us a lot, especially during the pandemic.”

The year 2020 was in favor of the business, says the entrepreneur, as many merchants made the transition from offline to online sales, and the platform facilitated this.

Last year’s turnover was about 155,000 euros, and this year the two founders estimate that recurring revenues will exceed the threshold of 310,000 euros.

In addition to integrating the solution on renowned marketplaces such as Amazon or eBay, plans for the next period include expanding internationally, both in Eastern and Western Europe, and finding optimal solutions for the delivery and storage area.

“In three years I hope to be in all EU countries and to prepare for an expansion on other continents,” added Ciprian Cazacu.

For him, the choice to give up the corporation and enter entrepreneurship was influenced by his grandparents, who in turn were entrepreneurs. He and his brother, Iulian Cazacu, set out to replicate living models, and in their case, the grandparents were the models who helped them shape another version of the present.
