Since April 1, the territory of Country of Courtomer (Orne) has an additional young entrepreneur. Flavien Baucheron, 33 years old, made the decision to open its roofing company, FB Roofing.
The idea had been trotting in his head since August and it was in December 2020 that he launched. A one-year availability in hand, granted by his employer, the steps go quickly.
“I had been thinking about it for a long time, I wanted to be my own boss,” says Flavien. The launch of his activity was done quite easily with training in business creation, management skills.
“I felt supported”
“We are really supervised by the chamber of trades”, and by other organizations which help business creators to put together the files, to gather the useful information. “I felt supported,” he adds. And not only by administrative services! Flavien can count on the encouragement of his wife and his artisan friends, who “gave him a lot of advice and motivation”.
Even though the fear of failure is present, Flavien benefits from quite a lot of experience. Coming from a family of roofers, he has been climbing the roofs since he was little, so when he was younger, it was natural that he did an apprenticeship as a roofer, near Sées. His experience, the quality of his work, and his family name, well known in the cover world, gave him the benefit of word of mouth which has borne fruit.
Its future customers are already showing their confidence in it. “My schedule for April is already full, and May is underway,” says Flavien, a smile on his lips. “I had contacts in December, and people kept their word,” he says, aware that even if there is competition, “there is work for everyone”.
“Want to start”
One who is described as a “perfectionist” by his wife likes to work with slate. “It’s more meticulous, the rendering is pretty, it’s more interesting,” said the young entrepreneur, also a volunteer firefighter at the Courtomer rescue center.
If the shaping of copper and zinc work is also “pleasant”, Flavien has already thought of everything, and also of doing things that he, perhaps, likes less, such as chimney sweeping, but which “will make me known. , because it is little offered ”.
A few days before starting, Flavien was ready, truck delivered, materials in transit, he “wanted to start”. And ultimately, his goal would be to hire someone, “courageous, to train him”.
