Business and societal impact: for the rest of the world

The last few years have been marked by greater recognition of environmental issues. From Greta Thunberg to the marches for climate, all over the planet global warming worries the population.

Today, a growing number of companies want to contribute to the solution. They are looking for ways to act positively on society, but may wonder where to start.

The two experts Mickael Carlier, president of Novae, and Matthew Salou, partner, marketing and business development director at Novae, offers us some avenues for reflection.

Have an impact on society

Mickael Carlier explains that beyond environmental issues, Novae is interested in all forms of social initiatives that improve the lot of society. “A company does not live in a vacuum, it is part of a living ecosystem that must be maintained to ensure the sustainability of the organization and the world. It is therefore normal that it contributes to its balance and its health. It is not a question of image. It means understanding that the survival of the market depends on that of society and the environment. For example, if you have a pulp and paper company and you destroy forests without replanting trees, you are acting against your own interests, ”explains Mickael Carlier.

Think about the “why” of your business

To find solutions, you have to understand the challenges you face. “If we start from the grassroots by asking what the business is for, what our raison d’être is, we quickly realize that it is essential to take actions that contribute to its future. A company does not operate outside the world, it is one of its important links, it must think of future generations. ”Environmental issues take an important place in our training at Infopresse since these questions are very topical, but the strategies proposed also address all forms of social issues related to equality and quality of life.

For concrete changes

Overall, the social impact training courses given at Infopresse aim to make participants aware of the interaction between their company and living things in order to integrate notions such as the circular economy into its business model. They serve, among other things, to clarify the ins and outs of the issues in order to offer concrete tools for building viable and sustainable strategies.
