Indeed, the day, classified red by Bison Futé, was one of the busiest of the summer holidays. Some 1,100 kilometers of traffic jams have been accumulated on the roads of France. On the other hand, this Sunday was much calmer, allowing motorists to take full advantage of the start of their vacation.

For Aurore and her daughter Louise, who stop at the Chartres Bois-Paris rest area for lunch, “it’s a real pleasure to have taken out a rental from Sunday to Sunday. We leave from Nancy and go as far as Vannes for a fortnight of relaxing family holidays”.
Aurore and her husband left at six in the morning and plan to arrive in Brittany at the end of the evening. “With a little girl like Louise, even if the roads are smooth, we have to take regular breaks.” For them, holidays are synonymous with “patience and pleasure”.
“We chose our moment badly”
But for others, the return from vacation is less pleasant. David and Mélanie testify:
“We left for four days with our family in Seine-et-Marne and we are now returning home to Brittany. It must be said, we chose the wrong time to take the car. On the way there and back, we had problems. This morning, for example, at the Saint-Arnoult toll, there was an accident which really slowed us down. But we are still on vacation until this evening, so we remain positive.”
Green holidays in a haven of tranquility
What is certain is that the travelers present on the area are smiling. After these last gray days, they are happy to head back to the ocean for sunnier days.
Little Léo, who is leaving with his parents for a week camping in Lacanau, is happy to be able “finally to put on a T-shirt, because it is the symbol of summer and in Paris, at the moment, c It’s not possible. It’s too cold and it’s not pleasant”.
