Bushido suffers from severe migraine attacks
In them RTLPodcast “In bed with Anna-Maria and Anis Ferchichi” Bushido chats regularly about his private life and everyday family life with his wife Anna-Maria Ferchichi. But what very few people know about the German rapper: Anis Ferchichi, Bushido’s real name, has been suffering since he was a teenager recurrent migraine attacks. These attacks are even so bad that they even massively restrict the life of the rapper.
In a new episode of the podcast, he now speaks in detail about his health problems for the first time. “I withdrew, was always at home, didn’t go with me when my friends went out,” he recalls of how he dealt with migraines when he was younger.
“Head to burst”
Extreme headaches are just one of the symptoms that can accompany an attack. The neurological disease is so pronounced in him that he partially massive visual disturbances has. In the podcast episode he describes the usual course of such an attack: The migraine attacks usually begin with a flickering before the eyes. “At some point it just gets so big that I can’t see anything anymore”, he explains. On average, this condition lasts about an hour. “Normal vision then returns – and then comes the headache. And they’re tough,” the musician continues.
“Then it’s sometimes so strong that I tie a scarf around my forehead, tie it tightly, so that this back pressure won’t burst my head.” said the rapper. He was then completely “knocked out” and couldn’t do anything anymore.
Rapper struggles with panic attacks
But not only the symptoms themselves, but also the unpredictability of migraines is extremely stressful for the father of seven. In the podcast, Bushido describes: “It can happen anywhere.” It is precisely this unpredictability that also has a further negative impact on his life. In the past, Bushido had to deal with bad things again and again panic attacks to fight.
But the 44-year-old is optimistic and combative. autogenic training as well as one psychotherapy have helped him to get a grip on the fear before and during migraine attacks. The rapper has now come to terms with the situation: “But I’ve just accepted it now. I don’t want to restrict my life so much now. I don’t want to let family life suffer either.”
