In a frightening incident documented by the camera, a bus driver and a passenger opened fire on each other, after the latter demanded that the driver drop him off at an unauthorized location for the vehicle to stop.
The events began when one of the passengers on the bus got up while it was moving and asked the driver to allow him to get off between pre-determined stops, according to a statement issued by the Charlotte Transportation System in the US state of North Carolina.
The driver, for his part, asked the passenger to wait until he reached the next stop, but after about two minutes of arguing, the passenger pulled out a gun and pointed it at the driver.
But the driver’s reaction was quick, and he also took out a weapon and pointed it at the passenger, and started shooting from both sides, but it is still not clear who fired the first bullet, according to the authorities.
As a result of the gunfight, the driver was wounded in the arm, while the passenger was wounded in the stomach.
A video clip documented these dramatic events until the bus stopped, and the driver moved to catch up with the passenger who fled towards the back of the bus, before exiting with another passenger through the side door.
The driver continued to shoot the passenger as he walked down the aisle of the bus, then exited the front door and continued shooting at him in the street.
