YOGYAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV– The tourist bus accident in Bantul leaves trauma for the victims. No exception, Danarto (38), a resident of Pundongsari, Mranggen, Pulokarto, Sukoharjo who survived the tourism bus accident in Bukit Bego, Imogiri, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Sunday (6/2/2022).

“Before the incident, while on a high incline, the bus was no longer able to move, the engine died,” said Danarto, who was sitting next to the bus driver, Monday (7/2/2022).

He admitted that all passengers had panicked and hysterical. The bus kernet came down looking for a block to prop up the bus which had backed off suddenly. The passengers got off the bus.

Not long after, the bus engine started again and the passengers got back into the bus. After that, the bus was going in third gear.

He had eavesdropped on the conversation between the bus driver and the assistant who suspected that the bus filter was dirty or had problems. Kernet also said at that time that he had gone through the same path a week before and there was no problem.

Hearing the conversation between the kernet and the bus driver, Danarto didn’t feel well. Moreover, when the bus enters the bend in Bukit Bego.

The driver looked panicked while shifting, the bus swayed to the right and to the left. The panicked passengers kept shouting takbir.
