In Costa Rica, a bus fell 75 meters off a cliff on the night between Saturday and Sunday, causing at least nine deaths and dozens of injuries. According to the authorities, the accident occurred following landslides caused by heavy rain. As a result, two vehicles hit the bus.

The accident occurred on the Inter-American Highway in Cambronero, about 70 kilometers from the capital San José. Authorities say 28 people have been taken to hospital, three of whom are in critical condition. Two people are still missing.
