Cherai: A young bus conductor who came to a college student’s house with a marriage proposal attacked the girl’s father. The reason for the attack was when he approached the father and asked him to marry his daughter. In the incident, Munambam police arrested Ashiki (23), son of Maperamp Ashraf, a native of Kodungallur Methala and living on rent in Chakkumarassery area of Paravur Vaddakekara. The incident took place at a house on Ayyampilli Manappilli road side at around 8 pm on Thiruvona day.
He was hit in the chest with a thunderbolt. He also threatened that he would not let his daughter live if he did not marry her. When the family made noise, the accused tried to run away and was stopped by the locals. Munambam police arrived and took the accused into custody.
A case was registered under the charges of housebreaking and bodily harm. Presented in court. The police said that the accused girl, who works as a conductor on Sadhika and Yasin buses on the Vypin route, came home after she learned to board the bus. According to the police, the accused conductor was arrested in Andhra with 10 kg of ganja and served a jail term of one and a half years in Paravur police station.
