A spectacular accident happened with an articulated bus in New York: The vehicle broke through the railing of an overpass and fell halfway vertically. The driver and several passengers were injured.
The pictures are unbelievable: the front part of a bus has broken through the railing of a road overpass and is hanging down, while the rear part of the bus is still on top of the road. The accident happened, according to police, on Thursday around 11 p.m. local time in the New York borough of the Bronx, after the driver of the bus went off the road.
As the fire department reports, the driver has suffered serious injuries. Eight passengers were slightly injured in the accident – they were taken to hospitals. According to the police, the accident happened at an intersection of the Cross Bronx and Deegan expressways.

Reminder of a metro accident in the Netherlands
The pictures are reminiscent of the accident in a subway near the Dutch city of Rotterdam last November. A metro driver had pulled the train onto a siding there. But the train didn’t stop, it broke through the stopping blocks and only came to a stop on a work of art immediately behind it.
