Venjaramood ∙ An out-of-control private bus crashed into an electricity pole while competing with a KSRTC bus, injuring 11 passengers. Bus passengers Janimohan (31) of Vakkam Angavila, Vaishnavi (16) of Kollam Killiyalur Vaishnavath, Saraswathiamma (76), Sandhyakumari (46) at Devaki Nivas near Attingal Girls HSS. Gokul K. Subramanian (27), Sandeep (23), Venjaramood Valiyakattakal K.M. Athina (23) was seriously injured in the house. He was given first aid at the hospital and released.
The accident happened at 6 pm yesterday in Mukunnoor on Venjaramood Attingal road. The Sribhadra bus which was going from Venjaramoot to Atingal was involved in the accident. According to the passengers, the KSRTC bus which started from Venjaramoot was racing with the KSRTC bus and while trying to overtake the KSRTC bus at Mukunnoor descent, it lost control and broke the electricity post and landed in the pit on the side. The injured were admitted to Venjaramood Private Medical College Hospital.
