An accident between a bus with Greek tourists and a truck closed the Ruse-Byala road near the junction for Borovo. The traffic has been rerouted through a detour route Obretenik-Tsenovo-Byala station and vice versa.
According to initial information, the bus was traveling in the direction of Byala. At a bend between Volovo and Borovo, the bus collided with a truck traveling to Ruse, after which the bus left the road.
The passengers broke the windows to get out of the bus. According to preliminary information, 9 people were transported by ambulance to a hospital in Ruse, having received cuts. No one is in serious condition.

“Unfortunately, we had two accidents – a small one in Romania and a second one in Bulgaria. Most of us are fine… I don’t know what went wrong, it was a main road. Now we are waiting to find out how the people who are hospitalized are doing, as well as to be transported to Sofia, and from there to be taken to Greece… It was incredibly stressful, you don’t realize what is going on, but we are happy that we are okay”, Panagiotis Grapsas, a tourist from Greece, told bTV.
“The bus was moving at high speed and there were two or three tires in front of me, the bus was going to drag me too. My colleague called me that he had an accident, that he had collided with a bus, and I came to the scene. The passengers were getting out through the broken windows of the bus and I was helping them to leave the bus faster,” said Aken, a colleague of the driver of the crashed truck.
According to initial information, the alcohol samples of both drivers were negative. What are the reasons for the accident – it is not clear. The investigation into the serious traffic accident continues.
