“Today there is still a rampage at the school”, with these words the 16-year-old from the Güssing district reported to the school, triggering a police operation. The Vorarlberg State Criminal Police Office was able to quickly locate the boy via the telephone number. He was found at his home address.
During the interrogation of the accused, the young man later confessed. He said that in recent days he had repeatedly seen reports of a killing spree in the United States and wanted to know the consequences of such a threat in Austria. So he randomly picked a school away from his hometown. The 16-year-old also said he called several schools, but he couldn’t remember which one.
