Bursaspor President Recep Günay Announces Decision Not to Pardon Player involved in Incidents

It was stated that in Bursaspo, one of the TFF 2nd League White Group teams, club president Recep Günay announced his decision not to pardon Çağatay Yılmaz, who was involved in the incidents in the home match in which they lost 2-0 to Diyarbekirspor.

Making a statement to the press at a program organized by TSYD Bursa Branch, Günay emphasized that Bursaspor was going through a difficult period. Günay stated that they did not receive enough support from the community and that this process could only be overcome with unity and solidarity.

Günay claimed that the previous management had a big share in the bad situation and reminded that 23-year-old Çağatay Yılmaz was excluded from the squad by the decision of the board of directors after the fight that broke out in the Diyarbekirspor match.

“I WISH HE HAD SHOWED THIS AMBITION ON THE FIELD”

Pointing out the importance of responsibility and discipline, Günay said:

“If there is no responsibility and discipline, you cannot do anything as a coach, manager and president. We read the match report. We did not make this decision out of the blue. The match is over, you have no chance of coming back. Why this ambition with two minutes left? I wish he had shown this ambition on the field. -0 if we had lost.”

There was so much passion and power when the fight broke out, why didn’t you reflect it on the field? Was there a need to start a fight? Whoever did it will pay the price. No forgiveness, no selling. Selling gives him a reward. It was said, ‘Let’s not exclude him from the squad, there are those who want him and the price will decrease.’ Our honor and pride are more important than money. No one can play with the fate of the club.

In the match that took place at Yüzüncü Yıl Atatürk Stadium in the 18th week of the TFF 2nd League, a fight broke out between the players of both teams as a result of the double fight in the 89th minute, when Diyarbekirspor was leading 2-0.

The referee of the match, Burak Taşkınsoy, showed red cards to a total of six players from both teams, then restarted the game and ended the match.
