“Burnley’s Vincent Kompany Signs Long-Term Deal, but Chairman Acknowledges the Danger Ahead”

Vincent Kompany has brought Burnley back to the Premier League by winning The Championship in superior style. Something that has caused English major clubs to open their eyes to the Belgian.

But in days the club announced that Kompany had signed a deal that runs until 2028. But the club’s chairman, Alan Pace, recognizes that the danger is not over.

– It’s like dating the most beautiful woman in town, knowing there’s probably no chance she’ll marry you. Everyone else wants to marry her too, says Pace, and continues:

– So how long can you date and how long can you be together as a couple. I hope it’s long, but it’s mostly up to “her”.

Pace also stated that he is not worried about ever having to think about sacking the former Manchester City defender.

Vincent Kompany recently completed his first season as manager of Burnley. He has previously been in charge of Anderlecht in the Belgian league.

The Burnley team that he brought up to the Premier League includes the Swedish national team defender, Hjalmar Ekdal, who was recruited from Djurgården in January.
