Burnley really needs reinforcements in view of the fight for maintenance. And the Clarets have formalized the arrival of Datro Fofana from Chelsea.
David Datro Fofana (21 years old) joined Chelsea in January 2023, being one of the countless transfers from the Blues upon the arrival of Todd Boehly. Transferred from Molde, he was loaned to Union Berlin last summer but did not really establish himself in Germany (only one goal in 12 Bundesliga matches).
Chelsea have ended the loan of the Ivorian striker, who will only pass. Indeed, Datro Fofana is now on loan to the Premier League for the second part of the season: direction Burnley. Vincent Kompany’s club has formalized the arrival of the Ivorian international (3 caps), who is not included in the African Cup of Nations at home with the Elephants.
Since his arrival, David Datro Fofana has only played 4 matches for Chelsea. Kompany will have to develop the potential of his new player, very promising at Molde (24 goals in 65 matches). Burnley are currently second to last in the Premier League, and will therefore need a goalscorer to keep up.
