Over 73,000 attendees at the Burning Man desert art festival in Nevada are unable to leave the event due to heavy rain. This is reported USA Today.
“Pershing County authorities closed access to the Burning Man event immediately and for the remainder of the event. Participants arriving at the event should turn around and go home,” the local area management bureau said.
It is specified that the strongest downpour completely blocked the movement of vehicles on the territory of the festival and at the entrances to it, turning the roads into dirty streams. At the same time, according to weather forecasts, in the next few days the downpour will only intensify.
The organizers recommended that participants save food and water supplies, transport is allowed to be used only in case of emergency. There is almost no mobile connection at the festival site, only a few have access to satellite Internet.
The elements came to the desert at a time when the number of participants usually reaches peak values - closer to the finale of the event, the ceremony of burning a giant statue of a man.
The festival started on August 27th. Officially, the event should end on the morning of Monday, September 4, the so-called exodus.

At this time, various art objects are brought to the desert, participants wear incredible costumes, various events, master classes, performances, and concerts are held.
