“Burning daylight”: this is how the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest sounds

It was already known that the Netherlands would be represented by Dion Cooper and Mia Nicolai, as was the title of their song, “Burning daylight”. But how the song sounded, it had to wait until yesterday.

“Burning daylight” was officially presented in the TV show Khalid and Sophie. It’s a ballad about “falling down, making mistakes and getting back up again,” the duo say. “Learning from your mistakes and from your past, being able to leave things behind so you can become a better version of yourself. Accepting that we are all human, experience pain and that we have to go through it.”

Dion Cooper (29) and Mia Nicolai (26) were introduced to each other three years ago by Duncan Lawrence, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for the Netherlands in 2019. “Burning daylight” was written by Lawrence, his partner Jordan Garfield and Dion and Mia themselves.
