“We don’t know how to say it, nothing like this has ever happened in the history of the festival: the singer Burna Boy canceled our performance at Colors of Ostrava a little while ago due to a malfunction on his private plane. The whole band, dancers and the whole team are ready in the backstage of our festival,” announced the organizers of Colors of Ostrava on the social network shortly before half past twelve on Friday evening.

In her place, the electronic magician Kavinsky “jumped” onto the main stage, and his performance on the Liberty stage was replaced by the popular Czech band Chinaski.
“We also addressed the shift to a later time tonight, but despite the great efforts of the singer’s team, the malfunction could not be fixed. Read the management’s statement: “Due to an engine failure on the plane taking him to Ostrava, Burna Boy is unfortunately unable to be at Colours of Ostrava. Fortunately, he is safe & hopes to return to perform for his Czech fans at the soonest opportunity,” the organizers of Colors of Ostrava wrote further, stating that the following program is expected to change: Trad.Attack!: 11:30 p.m. – 0:30 a.m., Orlen Drive stage Danger: 0:45 a.m. – 2:00 a.m., Česká spořitelna stage.

“Burna Boy, he is a brave catch. He is a big world star, but he has not yet performed in the Czech Republic, so in general he will become famous only after Colors, otherwise he is of course a star of the first magnitude,” joked Zlata Holušová, director of the Colors of Ostrava festival, in an interview with Deník addressed to the African star before the start of the festival. To the question of whether they will “bring” him to the Czech Republic with the idea that people will already see him as a star of the first magnitude, or whether a wider audience will discover him here, she answered: “You have to ask them. When they look at any of his clips, they will immediately see how big a star he is. It depends on the fans, how much they love music and discovering new faces. We can perceive their feedback especially from social networks.”
