Burma: “Blood does not solve anything. Let dialogue prevail”, pleads the Pope – LINFO.re

Pope Francis once again referred to the situation in Burma on Wednesday March 17th.

The image of Sister Ann Rose Nu Twang, who was on her knees on March 8 in front of the Burmese security forces, arms outstretched in the sign of the cross, has been around the world on social networks. The Burmese sister, kneeling, had shouted at the address of the police: “Do not shoot the children”.

Since protests began against the military coup responsible for the overthrow of Aung San Suu Kyi on February 1, the WHO has reported that at least 138 peaceful protesters have been killed, “including women and children.

For his part, referring to the gesture of Sister Ann Rose Nu Twang, the Pope Francis also mentioned the Burma at the end of his general audience on Wednesday, stating: “I too get down on my knees on the roads of Myanmar and I say stop the violence. I too reach out and say that dialogue prevails. Blood does not solve anything. Let dialogue prevail.”, report Le Figaro.
