Burlon celebrates 10 years of County of Milan, on the Jacobs catwalk

“Life is so short you can’t waste even a day”. It opens with these words and the peace symbol printed on an oversized white sweatshirt the Marcelo Burlon showthan to celebrate 10 years of ‘County of Milan’ chooses to go big, parading at the Vigorelli Velodrome in Milan, temple of music and sport, where in the 40s Fausto Coppi set the hour record and where legends such as Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Clash played. And indeed, here the 100-meter Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs appears on the catwalk, wearing blue dungarees, a color dear to the Argentine designer, chased by Burlon himself. Applause and admiring glances are not spared.

The collection is a hymn to freedom: on the long runway, set up along the perimeter of the runway, wide for some of the designer’s cult items: t-shirt and sweatshirt with colored rib cage, paisley suits and baggy trousers, animalier and tie dye touches, all-over denim and influences’ shamanic ‘suggested by ponchos worn bare-chested, patchwork or with characteristic South American motifs, of which Burlon has made his own stylistic code over the years. The collection is completed by denim sarong pants, dungarees and oversized bomber jackets. (from Federica Mochi)
