As part of the implementation of the road map of the country’s humanitarian team, a meeting was held on Friday August 2, 2024, at the headquarters of the International Rescue Committee (IRC-Burkina), bringing together organizations led by women involved in the humanitarian response. Started at 10 a.m., the meeting was held in a hybrid manner (online and in person) and was attended by around thirty leaders and representatives of women’s organizations. It was moderated by Ms. Fatoumata KI, co-lead of the localization pillar. Before getting to the heart of the matter, a word of welcome was addressed by the Country Director of IRC, Mr. Diaw A. Mouhamadou. He welcomed all participants to IRC and reiterated his structure’s support for organizations led by women.

Subsequently, Ms. Diane Félicité Ngamo, interagency gender equality advisor for the humanitarian response in Burkina Faso, presented the humanitarian architecture with a focus on humanitarian coordination and key actors. She addressed the challenges of setting up the gender and inclusion working group in humanitarian action, the EHP gender roadmap and in particular the localization pillar where organizations led by women have a crucial role to play. play. This roadmap has five (05) pillars, namely leadership, programming, coordination, localization and accountability.
