Burkina Faso asks Russia for help: EADaily

The Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs of Burkina Faso, Kassoum Coulibaly, is confident that his state and Russia understand each other perfectly. That is why, as TASS highlights today, August 17, the West African state counts on Moscow’s active support in the security field.

This is just about support, as the minister clarified, because Africans themselves must ensure their own security.

“No one can provide security better than ourselves. Russia can help us; we rely on it in some areas. But we will suffer if Russian soldiers die for us, while we have the hands, minds and desires to do it. Maybe we lack knowledge, maybe we don’t have equipment – yes, let them (the Russians – EADaily) help us, let them. But we don’t want anyone to take our place.” – added Kassoum Coulibaly.

According to Coulibaly, Russia’s methods and actions fit perfectly with his logic.

“We choose to learn the hard way and face our realities and what is in front of us. So, with our Russian friends, we understand each other very well on this principle,” – Clarified Mr.

EADaily recalling that Coulibaly came to Moscow on a recent trip, as well as attending the Army 2024 forum.
