The Ministry of Health recognized the merit of 115 workers and partners this Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in Ouagadougou.
115 workers and partners were decorated on December 30, 2020 at the Ministry of Health, including 100 recipients in the Health Clip, 10 in the Burkinabè order of merit and 5 in the Etalon order.
These decorations are made in a context marked by the coronavirus. Moreover, the personal and professional investment of these agents and partners of the ministry in the fight against the disease was welcomed. This is the case of Dénis Bakyono, the president of the Burkinabè Red Cross, made Knight of the Burkinabè Order of Merit. “We want to dedicate this medal to the staff of the Red Cross, to all our partners and especially to our volunteers because they are doing an enormous job during this period of the covid-19 pandemic. At the level of the Red Cross, we covered all of Burkina Faso through our 45 provincial committees. The decoration calls on us to go further in order to be able to win the fight against the coronavirus ”, he indicated.
The contribution of international organizations in the fight against the pandemic has been recognized. Queen Lydia Saloukou née Zoungrana, public health sociologist at Pathfinder International, with 30 years of service, received the Medal of Knight of the Order of the Stallion as part of her duties. “If I was chosen, it is because of the work that was done by my collaborators because we are an international organization but we work hand in hand with the Ministry of Health and when the covid arrived, we sums mobilized to support the Ministry of Health ”, did she say.
The same goes for private sector health actors. The promoter of the Clinique Médicale Notre Dame de la compassion (CMNDC) and secretary general of the Association of promoters of private clinics in Burkina Faso (APROCLIB) Dr Diédon Alain Hien is among the recipients of this ceremony of decoration of the year 2020. “In the context of covid-19, the private health sector appointed me as the focal point and I brought the maximum of what I could bring and I believe that it is under the fight against covid- 19 that this recognition was awarded to me ”, he hinted.
The Minister of Health, Claudine Lougué, had a special thought for the agents who were distinguished and also their dedication and commitment in the response against covid 19.
