Burke leaves Werder Bremen temporarily

One comes, the other goes: As SV Werder Bremen reported on Monday, striker Oliver Burke is moving to another club on loan until the end of the season, subject to the medical check. A club name has not yet been mentioned. Shortly before, Werder had announced an upcoming loan from Wolfsburg’s Maximilian Philipp.

Update: Sea Bild-Information Burke is drawn to England to join Millwall FC. The deal should not include a purchase option. In Bremen, the Scot is bound after the loan until 2025.

Second update: As the SVW confirms, it is said Millwall FC from the second English division.

Clemens Fritz, head of the scouting and professional football department, says about the change: “Oliver had the opportunity at short notice to get more playing time at another club than we currently have. That’s why we agreed with him on a loan to Millwall FC. He has already played there and had positive experiences. We hope that he can get more appearances there and develop further in his game. In the summer he will return to Bremen. We continue to see great potential in him and hope that he can develop that through more appearances.”

The 25-year-old, who switched from Sheffield United to the North Germans in the summer, has made 15 appearances this season. He scored two goals.
