The Burgos City Council has increased the budget for the Festivals of San Pedro and San Pablo to 1.9 million euros, 200,000 euros more than last year, according to what the councilor for Festejos, the socialist Blanca Carpintero, pointed out on Monday.
Carpintero, who has presented the bulk of the festive programme, has explained that the activities will take place from June 23 to June 2, although some specific events will be held prior to those dates.
This is the case of the proclamation of the Court of Honor, an act that will take place this Saturday, June 10, at 9:00 p.m. in the Plaza Mayor, entertained by Mester de Juglara and Diego Galaz.
One of the main novelties of this year, the presentation of new bigheads and giants, will not finally take place due to the health problems of Cristino Dez, the artist who had been commissioned to make them.
