An investigation was opened in Grenoble after a burglary “of an anti-Semitic nature» of an apartment whose walls were covered with threats, swastikas and pro-Palestinian slogans, prosecutor Eric Vaillant said on Tuesday, October 17.
The occupant of the apartment noticed during the night from Monday to Tuesday that his accommodation had been burglarized, damaged and that the walls had been covered with a spray paint with anti-Semitic tags, according to the Grenoble prosecutor confirming information from the daily Dauphiné Libéré.

The robbed family, which according to the daily was targeted because of its Hebrew name, was put in touch with a victim support association, according to the prosecutor’s office which entrusted the investigation to departmental security police officers.
Since the attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2,500 reports of anti-Semitic acts have been received on the Pharos reporting platform according to the Interior Ministry.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin also announced Monday that 102 people had been arrested for anti-Semitic acts or glorifying terrorism. More than 189 anti-Semitic acts have also been recorded on French territory.
