EOST-SOUBURG – A 38-year-old man from Middelburg was arrested in the early hours of this morning for allegedly breaking into a house on Prins Bernhardstraat in Oost-Souburg.
At around 5 in the morning, an alert resident reported through 112 that the burglar broke a window in that house. The local resident then saw the man entering the house. It took about 2 minutes for the police to arrive, they just happened to be nearby. They also entered the house and found the burglar there, in the bathroom. He was slightly injured because he had broken the window with his bare hands. One of the officers gave first aid to the man. The officers then moved him to the police cell base. A GGD doctor will further treat the man’s injuries there.
Victim support was called in for the occupants of the home. They reported vandalism and crime. No items were taken from the home.

Kudos to the police. Red-handed. And that the neighbors were awake and responding attentively.
